Printer Supplies Search

A Blog for Printers and other Hardwares in Office and Word Place

Archive for the ‘Uncategorized’ Category

The internet is huge and the only way to find what you’re looking for is to use a good search engine such as Google or Yahoo. Even when you use a search engine it can still be a time consuming process finding the cheapest price on a particular product. When your searching for printer ink there are few tricks you can use to make the process easier, one of which is to use detailed search terms. If you’re looking for ink for an Epson stylus SX600FW printer for example search for exactly that. By including the printer model in with your search the search engines results will be pages where the cartridges for that printer can be found. Searching for printer ink in this manner makes the process of finding the retailer with the cheapest price a lot quicker and more likely than if you use general terms such as “Epson ink”. Searching for general terms will probably get you the same or similar websites but the search engine’s results will most likely be the homepages of each retailer’s websites and this means you have to spend time clicking through each site to find your cartridges in order to compare the prices.

  • 96C87F4C-294A-42F4-9145-B709C4F3B732.jpgThat’s right, solid ink!!! The device is called the ColorQube 9200 and it uses solid ink. Although, not truly solid when it prints, the ink is placed into the printer in a solid form.

Once in the printer, the ink is heated and melted to create a liquid. The liquid is then used in a manner similar to the standard inkjet printers that we are all familiar with. Similar to color inkjets, the ColorQube 9200 uses a block of 3 primary colors and one block of black.

Xerox says that each block needs to be replaced after 55,000 which is way more than you can get from standard liquid inkjet cartridges.

The ColorQube 9200 is a brand new concept, and like all new tech wonders, it is currently expensive at a cost of $22,000. However, as the concept goes mainstream the price will fall to the point that at sometime in the not too distant future, it will be affordable to most.

The device can print between 38 to 85 pages per minute which is amazing for a color printer and Xerox estimates that it will use much less ink than traditional devices.

This is definitely a technology that can change the game dramatically. It just needs to reach a price point that is within the reach of the masses.

  • Microtechnology is a term first applied to semi-conductor technology where an array of circuits could be put on a single chip.  Microtechnology is technology with features near one micrometer (one millionth of a metre, or 10-6 metre, or 1μm).  Inkjet printers are a good example of microtechnology.

The PolyJet 3D printing technology has the highest resolution in the Z-Axis (height measurement) and builds 3 Dimensional rapid prototypes layered together at layer thicknesses of .0006″ (.015mm), or 15.24 microns.  Comparing the PolyJet 3D printer rapid prototype system to other systems on the market, I consider the PolyJet a microtechnology because it breaks the barrier traditional rapid prototype systems are currently confined in.  With a Z-Axis build capability of 15.24 microns, I can consider this close enough to define PolyJet as a rapid prototype “microtechnology”.  All PolyJet systems also have mechanical tolerance specifications they must be tuned within to meet the definition of the final product.  Some of the calibrations require tuning to specification of less than 1 micron.

I just delivered a product to a customer who had literally been struggling to get a quality 3D prototype for a little over a year.  This customer was so worn down by the bad quality 3D models he had received, along with all his questions being explained away, he didn’t even trust what i was saying.  I finally told the customer I would build a sample for free.  Once they received the sample, all apprehension about using another rapid prototype service was gone and I was chosen to produce their exciting models.  In summary, there was no other technology that was capable of building the project except the PolyJet prototype printer.

3D printing technology is a rapid prototype technology in and of itelf because it is a microtechnology, a true prototype printer, and a microtechnology that is a rapid prototype system using additive manufacturing as it’s process.

  • All the big printer makers and sellers have several models of refurbished printers to choose from. It can thus be difficult to choose from all the computers available. It can also be harder to tell the genuine refurbished printers from counterfeits. The only way to avoid falling into this prey is by buying your refurbished printer directly from the manufacturer. Go also for one with policies that allow for return in case something is amiss. Go for a multipurpose printer such as the Docucolor 12 which is both a printer and a copier, capable of developing several printed CD covered.

Refurbished printers enable you to access the best technology at a fair price. Another thing is that you can connect your refurbished printer to any system outlet, including those that have been customized not to accept new hardware (printer, in this place). It is also possible to find quality printers that may not be in the market.

  • There are multiple reports that the conficker/cornflicker worm is set to strike millions of infected machines on 1st April 2009.  This is NOT an April fool joke!

    Conficker - am I infected?

If you are NOT using a Windows-based PC you will be fine.  Conficker, like most virus’ is Windows only.

If you ARE using a Windows based PC and you have kept your anti-virus protection up to date and regularly scan, you should also be fine.  Just about every anti-virus program is aware of conficker and can safely kick it’s butt!

However, if you run a Windows based PC and you do not use anti-virus software, (like a lot of people) there’s a simple test you can do, to see if your machine has been infected.  Simply try to access the websites of some of the better known anti-virus companies - as conficker blocks access to many of these sites, in order to stop infected users from removing the crap from their system.

For more information on conficker, visit the conficker working group - a group of anti-virus providers, who offer help and advice on dealing with conficker.

    The $250,000 Conficker bounty

The people / person behind cornflicker has REALLY pissed off Microsoft - so much so that Microsoft are offering a reward of $250,000 for information leading to the capture of its creator!

  • The Botanicalls Kit is one of the coolest new products around: a circuit board and components that, when properly assembled, plugged into AC and ethernet, and sunk into plant soil, can send tweets or text messages about your plant’s water needs.

Since this is a DIY kit, the assembly instructions are essential to customer success with the product. I haven’t actually tried to follow them (because I haven’t shelled out $99 for a kit), but they appear clear and thorough, with lots of step-by-step photos.

But apparently, there are a few pieces of information missing that would be useful, indicated by a posting on the user forums entitled Things I wish you said in your docs …. This kind of feedback is absolutely golden. Rarely do customers express so clearly and explicitly (and in technical detail, in this case) when they need that you haven’t given them.

This particular posting has been up for a week with no response from Botanicalls staff, as of this writing. That’s a shame. The appropriate response to this kind of feedback is an immediate big fat “Thank you!”, along with an explanation of what you’re going to do with the feedback. It may or may not be appropriate to include the requested information in the documentation, but the feedback should not go unanswered.

  • LCD televisions- An overview

One cannot anticipate life without technology. In today’s world, where technology is an integral part of life, how can we overlook the progress made in televisions? Since the last decade, arrays of televisions have flooded the market. You might have heard of plasma or LCD televisions. Therefore, what exactly is the difference between a plasma and LCD television? Both Plasma and LCD televisions are flat and thin but they use very different technologies. LCD televisions are expensive but can be a better choice since they are light in weight, do not develop high temperatures and have amplified image brightness. Moreover, LCD televisions, use a less the amount of power. This feature can be extremely useful if you are extremely cautious about your budget. Another celebrated characteristic of LCD television is that, unlike traditional televisions, LCD televisions do not have a picture tube, which makes them tabular and easy to hoard.

  • A laptop notebook with a good configuration is priced at the same level with that of a PC with a slightly higher configuration!!

A laptop notebook is a new advancement in the field of computers which has integrated the functionalities of a computer into a very small box specifically designed for an enhanced portable computing.

With all the features brilliantly integrated a laptop notebook is sure to take up the lead in the computing world serving all kinds of business and online solutions at any place ad any time.

    Seamless superiority

Even though there are palm tops and PDAs that claim to be superior to laptop notebooks, they never offer the combo of speed and functionality which the laptop provides. You can do all the functions you do in your pc, internet connectivity, in a laptop notebook in a very simple and effective way.

It has no compromise on the processor speed, ram speed, hard disk space, internet, data transfer and you get everything very compact and mobile. One of the major advantages of a laptop notebook is that you need not have a power to operate it. Most of the laptops contain inbuilt lithium batteries which
can sustain the power for about 4 or 5 hours on an average.

A laptop usually has the structure of a large notebook with an average thickness of about 1 inch and dimensions that vary from 10 cross 8 to 15 cross 11. With the advent of many modern technologies, modern laptops have emerged with an average weight of just 4 - 8 pounds. Almost all the laptops are designed in a flip flop fashion in order to protect the screen and the keypad when not in
    use.

    Robust replacement

Laptop notebook can also be assumed as a hi-tech replacement for a personal computer with all the features of a pc delivered through a compact and a small device. With the evolution of world business being spread overseas, the need for mobility eventually increased which gave rise to the discovery of laptop notebooks.

Laptops were highly priced when they were introduced in the market. Only people with rich bank balances were able to afford it at the initial stage and it was like a dreamer`s passion for normal people to think about it. As the price of electronics went down rapidly, there was a large drop in the price of laptop notebooks.

    Affordable prices

A laptop notebook with a good configuration is priced at the same level with that of a PC with a slightly higher configuration. For those running small businesses and who shuttle more often, laptops can be of best use as they can finish a lot of deals on the air without the need of face-to-face conversation.

    Catch up with the trend

The trend has completely changed now. With the increase in the popularity of the laptops, almost every student in school and college possess one for their educational requirements. As the prices of electronic goods have tremendously reduced, it has more or less become a very basic commodity in every house just
like a TV or a two wheeler.

Almost every field is based on computing now. The best advancement in the field being laptop notebooks, its time to think about a small investment which can be of great use in the future.

I’m participating in my second FLOSS Manuals event in two weeks. After Winter Camp in Amsterdam, I had a week of “normal” life, and now I’m in Palm Springs, California at the DocTrain West conference, helping lead a book sprint to produce a manual for Firefox.

Right now, we have seven technical writers in a conference room, along with Adam Hyde, founder of FLOSS Manuals, and Chris Hofmann, director of engineering for the Mozilla Foundation. We’ve had at least that many people contributing remotely. The site shows that 22 people have logged into the site today, though I think one or two of those are working on other projects (that’s cool, too).

We’re “repurposing” some content from the Firefox Knowledge Base, but also generating new overview and conceptual content.

It’s not too late if you want to join in. Just go to http://en.flossmanuals.net, click “Write” at the top of the page, and then click “Register” on the left side to create a login ID. Find the link for Firefox, and see if there are any chapters you’d like to work on. Click “edit” for the chapter, and dig in. There’s nifty new IRC chat widget on the right side of the page, so you can talk to everyone else who’s participating.
